David Cameron recently announced that he has given Brooke Kinsella a special advisory role to his new coalition government after she backed their knife crime policies. Brooke took to the stage at a Conservative conference and said, “I just want change, like many people out there. This year nine teenagers in this city alone have been murdered, and that is nine families going through the worst kind of grief.”
She insisted that education, rehabilitation and discipline were needed to tackle the problem. She said:”‘We do need discipline because we need to show there is a right and there is a wrong and if you do wrong you can’t be allowed to get away with it.”
Brooke will help the new government identify which projects to support in the 100 most deprived wards in the country. Visiting different projects that tackle knife crime and encourage children to stay clear of violence, she will report back to the Home Secretary on her findings which will help shape the governments policies on tackling knife crime and serious violence among young people.
