Reaching the Peak
On Friday 8 September four brave Blick Rothenberg Limited employees, Basia, Frances, Tiffany, and Rachel, took part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge raising money for the Ben Kinsella Trust.
The challenge involved climbing the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough which form part of the Pennine rage in the Yorkshire Dales. This included walking over 24 miles, with a 5,2000ft of ascent, in under 12 hours, equal to 68,596 steps!
The first peak is deemed the hardest, but fortified with snacks the team completed the first peak by 8.30am and then set off for a five hour walk to the next peak, Whernside, where they encountered rain, wind and to top it all, hail!
The final peak is the most gruelling but the team pulled together and gave each other support they needed to make it to the finish. Our thanks to Basia, Frances, Tiffany, and Rachel for not only completing the challenge and also for raising a fantastic amount of money.
As you can see from the pictures the day ended in a 'lovely' drizzle, in total the team so nearly encountered all the weather possible, shame the only one missing was sunny!
As well as the above challenge three other Blick Rothenberg colleagues, Jessica, Catherine and Christopher, took part in a duathlon on September 2, all completing in great times and helping to raise money for us.
Thank you to everyone from Blick Rothenberg who took part in these challenges and to all their supporters.
